The refrain reminds me of something from maybe... the 80's?? The 90's?? Oh hell, I don't know. I just know it reminds me of something as does her autotuned voice. I like it, don't get me wrong, I just can't place it. Also, after hearing the "someone let the gate open" song in it's entirity... and not just the damn Citibank commercial, which made me want to heave the TV out the window... I realize it's not nearly that bad.
Also... pretty soon we won't have to say, "Heave the TV out the window." TV's don't weigh nearly what they used to. We finally replaced an old behemoth that took two strapping men to carry... it was replaced with something that weighs a tenth what it did and was less expensive, but is still better quality! Go figure.
Not gonna click on any youtuber lynx, so I'll just guess that it reminds you of something by the Bats. Or the Clean.

when we replaced our 27" CRT teevee with a flatscreen, young zombie and I went to pick up the large carton, and we set ourselves, went to heave it up....and nearly pitched it into the ceiling because it was way lighter than we thought.
unlike Sm*t, to me it reminds me of the Mekons.

What happens to an Upsy-Downsy if you click a YouTube link??? Does the sun set in the East? Do you grown down like Milo in Phantom Tollbooth?? Do you float like those who drank fizzy lifting drinks and Charlie and the Chocolate factory?? Do you die?? Like an old watch when you put a magnet on it???

Teh computerbox slows to a crawl while a whole bunch of fresh new bits are hand-picked, assembled into a file, then shipped over here on a slow cruise liner.

Good gravy, that overuse of autotune really ruined the song for me.

I saw Poliça a few months ago. A really good show. The lead singer, Channy Leaneagh, has a spectacular voice and at first the autotune seemed unfortunate, but after listening to the album a few times, it grew on me.
I've read comparisons between Poliça and the Cocteau Twins and I can see them. Maybe a hint of Massive Attack as well.
