It's a Meadowlark Lemon.

fish is banned.

Sounds to me like your neighbor's rotten kid left the door open again and this time the parakeet got out...

Yellow-headed blackbird?
~

No, it's head and back are yellow, with the tummy, etc, being back. Also, it's small... and smooth.

if fish could pull a Meadowlark Lemon PARTY out of the internet, he would be banned from the universe.

helping Jennifer.

:)

I haven't trusted a fish link since about day one.

I resemble that remark.

fish is always baiting the hook.

When I walked today I saw a bird that I am trying to identify. It was walking around in a front yard. It was like a meerkat in body orientation and shape. Very vertical, dark gray, about 15 inches tall, about 2-3 inches wide, Head seemed to have some streaking and the rest was mostly dark. I can't see that well, but there might have been some tufts on the back of its head. Bird Finder no help for me either. Also, had the distinct impression that it was a juvenile, so the color might not be right.

It was like a meerkat in body orientation and shape.

I know your vision... are you sure it wasn't a meerkat?? :)

Was it a "tree clinger"?? Sounds like it might have been. Your birds are going to be so different from ours... I have no idea what it might be. I'm imagining something from Dr. Seuss.

Pinko?? Any ideas?

If not a tree clinger, was it upright like a hawk tends to be??

It sounds delicious.

It was walking around in the front yard, all tall and thin. It was like a cartoon come to life. My impressions were both sea bird and baby peacock because of the shape of the head and the bearing.

No! It was NOT a meerkat!

Oh wow, I was imagining it in a tree! Now it really does sound like a Dr. Seuss character.

I don't think baby peacocks are tall and thin... I seem to recall them being kind of poofy... my like a large dinner roll on straws.
