Sorry Thundra

I have no photos from the weekend. Well, I actually have two... a crappy one on my cellphone and one on Grizzled's BlackBerry that he has yet to send me, otherwise, all photo options were missed due to the fact that I packed the camera, but left the memory card in the computer.

It was not that pretty anyhow... lots of faded colors, waiting for a booster shot from the gods. The ice was completely gone though so we did have some nice waterbird ake-shun. Lots of herons, cranes, mergansers, gulls, geese, etc, etc, etc. The lamblets found a lovely 8 ft stretch of heron tracks that were following the shoreline, but were about 5 feet off shore. That would have made a nice photo, but alas, no photo.

There was a fun image that popped out of the gnarl of trees as light was just starting to creep into the day... an image that looked like a giant, sad, blue bunny, but was really made up of tree trunks, branches, the lake, the trees on the other side of the lake... it was funny and completely hidden during the bright light of day, but in the wee hours, the bunny was there. I did a quick sketch of it so I could compare the same spot later in the day. There was no way you'd see if it you hadn't seen it in the early AM.

There were some errant snowdrops blooming in the crack right next to the basement door... bulbs that had no doubt been dug up and randomly redistributed when foundation work was being done. Those were pretty and their location was funky. Those would have made a nice photo, but I didn't get one of them either.

There were lots of horses on the way up... cute, fuzzy horses... horses that looked like they had been left in the dryer too long with no fabric softener... horses that were obviously still in their winter apparel. I could have taken a photo of them... had I not forgotten the memory card...

But... I do have two photos, or will have two photos, once Grizzled sends me one. One is on my cell phone... it's of the lamblets and Grizzled in the canoe, but it's not a good photo. I could have used my cell phone camera a little more had I remembered the charger...

The other photo was of a sign at a diner we pass... it had its sandwich of the month proudly emblazoned on its outdoor sign. It was 3B's worthy. I'll post it if Grizzled remembers to send it to me.

In the meantime, in order to satisfy some lake photo hunger... I'll post a lovely photo the Eldest Lamblet took last summer. It was sunset and there was the craziest cloud pattern in a portion of the sky. It looked like frolicking dolphins or a Greek wave pattern... fortunately she not only had a camera, but she also remembered its memory card.

Andy! The nerdiness is welcome! I was wondering what had caused that. I need to see if I can find the other image she took that had some very different clouds directly below. It was a funky sky, but very beautiful.
