Hey BG??

Is this song better?? Can you get Mannion's song out of your head now? And... will you be able to forget this one? :)

Smoke-ay!

Kathleen M. wondered in the comments of my last post, what I'd think of Alice Russell. I heard two tunes so far... one that had a very fun 70's funk vibe to it and then one that was pure smoke and magic jazz. Here it is:

Mercy indeed

A friend sent me this CD a couple of weeks ago. I find myself putting this song on when my ass is dragging and my life is calling for a little more slinkage.

My friend said the CD reminded him of Dusty Springfield... I'm thinking maybe Little Eva. Dusty's voice was deeper, richer. Still, Duffy does have that retro soul sound going for her. The intro sounds like it could merge right into Stand By Me while the first verse sounds like it is interchangeable with Chain of Fools.

It's just so wrong...

The radio station I listen to seems to play Bob Marley's, "Buffalo Soldier" quite a bit. Don't know why. I'll sing along with it, but when I get about halfway through the song, to the woy yoy yoy part, (it starts 1:31 into the song) my brain takes the fork in the road and I start singing the intro to The Banana Splits. I never make it back to Marley's lyrics, hard as I try. Buffalo Soldier is such a serious song and pretty soon thoughts of Fleegle are dancing across my mind.

Listen for yourself...

In Honor of Leap Day

Pinko Punko may own "Song of the Day", but I'm still QUEEN!!!

As some of you may have noticed... we're holding the 3rd Annual RoD, Bill O'Reilly, Holiday, Blue Girl Started it First, No Res did, No Blue Girl Did, Bake-Off!!! THERE'S STILL TIME TO ENTER! STILL TIME TO BAKE!!! (That means you, fish....)

The unhinged lovables (mainly PP) over at 3 Bulls! have been asking those who are participating to submit their theme songs. Many obliged. Some refrained (refraining from 3B half-assedness is often a wise choice... one I've not yet learned to make) and then some... some who were QUEEN of the FIRST Bake-Off... SOME who weren't sure their bakey love was going to carry them through this year... some who still wanted to squash the competition, did it in their own Pshawable way.

Give it up for the Queen of Cheating, the Queen of Bribes, Res' Overlord... BG!!!!!

Don't forget to go over to 3 Bulls! and see all of the fabulous choices. You may resume your baking.

Go See Him FIRST!!!
