Morning dreams and earworms...

Woke up... fell back asleep... had a bizarre dream about being on vacation, but had to switch hotel rooms because our one room was possessed. We left so fast, I left my bag and a $900 in cash... I wanted to go back in to get it, but the door would not open more than 3 inches, and when I even got it that far, all I saw was pitch black darkness, and heard something growl.  I stopped at the hotel chapel... the priest suggested I have friends go in to retrieve the money, but I was not supposed to.

Next... in our new room, I am attacked by spiders and dragonflies, but realize they are wooden, robotic creatures that are also tiny Christmas ornaments, and when I take a closer look, see there is printing on their sides that says "Thank you for visiting!" and gives the name of the hotel...

Weekend Dream Recap...

Saturday night's Freudian dreamfest included going to a friend's house for dinner, but she was missing a key ingredient so she suggested we run to her old house and get it. Being the good friend I am, I went along... although I was perplexed, as they had moved years ago. As we walked into her old house, it still had many of their furnishings in it. I started to head to the kitchen, but my friend went upstairs to her bedroom where she pulled HUGE vacuum-sealed packs of gray sausages out of the dresser. I suggested they might not be good anymore. She said they were fine, she'd been using them for years.

One of last night's dreams was about this strange seaweedy viney thing that I more of less followed throughout my day. Every once in a while this vine would have an opalescent pod or two. When I passed them, they'd pop and would hold a wonderful surprise. Sometimes I knew what the surprise was right away, sometimes it didn't hit me until the day was over and I thought back. Sometimes it didn't hit until years later... all I knew was, if I ran into one of these pods, something good would come of it. I remember thinking I wish they had thought of this surprise dispersal system much earlier!!! At least we'd know to be on the lookout and might flash on the wonderment a bit sooner.

Crazy Dreams: I blame the potstickers edition

Dream 1 consisted of a scary speedra crawling around in the piles of laundry I had just sorted, but I noticed, although it moved like a speedra, it had googly eyes and was purple. It looked as it it were made out of some kind of shiny plastic. Nonetheless, it creeped me out. I did not want to spend the whole day doing laundry, knowing it was waiting, so I started flinging clothes left and right. Mr. Speedra eventually came out where I promptly stomped him. He was filled with iridescent purple goo... and some kind of robotics and electronics. I kicked him over and saw, "Spyder" printed on his underside... Perhaps he was spying on me to make sure my laundry was properly sorted...

Dream 2 consisted of a cameo by Snag. Poor Snag needed an eye transplant, but since they're not common yet, he opted for the eye from a roadkill deer (maybe a stag...). It was successful and Snag could see again, however, that eye always always looked as if you were viewing it in the dark... it had that eerie glow, no matter the level of light.

Dreams

In one of the dreams I had last night, I dreamt that they were coming out with two new limited edition VW Beetles. One was made of brushed aluminum, but the really rare one was made out of a slightly polished copper. Both cars still had weld marks visible on the final product. If you looked at them from overhead, they looked like pies or cakes that had been sliced into wedges... the weld marks following the cut marks of the slice. They looked really cool.

A couple of thoughts occurred to me during the dream... one was that copper was much softer than steel. I wondered how this car would hold up in fender-benders. I also realized that the copper would oxidize over time, leaving the owner with a cool verdigris...I hoped VW would call this one, "Patina".

One other thought during my dreams... one that didn't pertain to cars... does an idea denoted by a compact fluorescent take less energy to come up with than one denoted by an incandescent? And... will incandescent ideas still be allowed??

Heard in the car on this sunshiny, hot summer's day...

Had I not known better, I would have thought I was a teenager driving to the Dunes for a lazy day of sun and frolic. Unfortunately, I know better.

The last dream I had before waking up was of a man with his back to me, holding up a small cardboard sign that was facing me. Although he was not facing me, he was jiggling the sign to get my attention. The words on the sign??

Snacktator/Shatner 2012??

I noticed in Thunder's blogroll that El Snacktator is forming an exploratory committee into a possible 2012 run for the White House. I had to go over and take a look. His running mate? William Shatner. Apparently being a cupcake or having a Canadian running mate doesn't get in El's way of continuing to conquer the world.

Anyhow, he's requesting slogan suggestions. Fish already has his competitive goat* on and is going to town. We can't let fish win everything...

Too much of the holidaze or not enough??

I had the best dream last night! Maybe I had been watching YL play too much Mario, but in my dream, I was outside at night in some sort of winter wonderland with people I knew and then these very friendly, very secure-feeling, biped moose (which were also sparkly) would come along and just whisk you up and fly you off to somewhere else. They didn't fly so much as they hovered. It was as if they had on jetpacks. It was such a safe and fun feeling. I was bummed to wake up and not be by those moose anymore. Of course, as I’m trying to explain it to Grizzled this morning, and am telling him they’re sparkly, but you know, tasteful sparkles, he goes, “Yeah, I know, not gaudy like a chipmunk or a goat would have…”
