Although Davy was not my fave... this still bums me out. And yes, I saw them in concert... along with Herman's Hermits and Gary Puckett...Let the jokes commence.

Did you think they were better than the Beatles?

Thunder is banned for being assholey.
No...
But my single digit self loved their show, and liked their fake music.

I loved their silliness! Has there ever been a cuter name than "Davy"? That's got crush/swoon/sigh written all over it!
I actually thought Peter Tork was the poetic looking, cool one. :)

What these last few weeks have taught me, with so much sadness and senseless dying is...
Live each day to the fullest!
In a *real* meaningful way. Beyond the cliche!
Posted by: blue girl | February 29, 2012 at 05:28 PM
BG- I was a Peter Tork fan as well. He was my fave.
Yep, live each day to the fullest. Sounds good. Focus on the good stuff.

*sniff*
This never happened to Pablo Picasso!

I got my office server to show up over the Intertubas!! ...ummm, not through anything I did, it just started showing up the way it was supposed to.
well, I'm excited about it.
Now, let's see if I can print remotely....

The show was really funny and creative. I watched it a ton when I was a kid. Sad to hear this news today.
Also, TLB definitely prefers The Monkees over The Beatles.

I was a Peter Tork fan as well.
I think we've discussed this topic previously on this blog! (Or maybe I'm just imagining it...)
Posted by: blue girl | February 29, 2012 at 08:39 PM
Yeah, BG. I believe we did... as we were both discussing our shared crushes on Vincent Van Patten. :)

NOT FAIR! You're not supposed to remember that!
Posted by: Jennifer | March 01, 2012 at 09:12 AM
At least you didn't look like Harriet Beecher Stowe.

Apparently that billy pilgrim jerk is quite a dork.

I actually had to look up HBS's image to refresh my memory. She would have looked hawt in white pants!
Posted by: Jennifer | March 01, 2012 at 12:33 PM

I think we can all agree that the loss of Davy Jones diminishes the world MUCH MORE than the loss of Adnrew Breitbart....although if the Big Ho sites close down, SubMac is gonna lose like half of his material.
Posted by: zombie rotten mcdonald | March 02, 2012 at 08:53 AM
I loved that Monkees tv show.

There's always Pajamas Media.
and liked their fake music
It wasn't fake! Just wasn't their instruments. At the start. That is real music.

Yeah!! That's right!
Posted by: Jennifer | March 02, 2012 at 08:56 PM
I didn't pay much attention to the Monkees ... but Michel Nesmith's Tantamount To Teason was/is a fav album.
Posted by: Bill | March 03, 2012 at 12:09 AM
Hey there Bill! You might have paid more attention to the Monkees if you had been a young girl. :)

TypePad's being wonky again. It must need oil.

The Internet senses dischord in the Bloggerhood, and is taking advantage of it to infiltrate and disrupt the Bloggy Homes.
What is to be done?

I misses you.

This was so sad. He was far too young(ish). He was a cutie when he was younger.

I always saw Jennifer as more fitting into L7, or maybe Sleater-Kinney.
Now that I think a bit more, she would also fit in well with the art-rock stylings of Throwing Muses.
Posted by: zombie rotten mcdonald | March 08, 2012 at 04:34 PM
Of course, she could always be a Mekon.
Also, Cloud Cult features two on-stage painters during their shows, so there's always that.
Posted by: zombie rotten mcdonald | March 08, 2012 at 04:35 PM
the art-rock stylings of Throwing Muses.
SAW THEM IN CONCERT. London, 1989, "Band of Susans" as support.
